Benefits of Brown Sugar On White Sugar



Any minerals present in brown sugar come from the molasses added to the white sugar. Some molasses is a source of calcium, magnesium, potassium, and iron; one tablespoon of molasses provides up to 20% of the daily value of each of those nutrients.




Brown sugar serves other functions than just sweetening food. Spa professionals use brown sugar in skin care treatments to help soften the skin and scrub off dirt and dead skin cells. Brown sugar is gentler than white sugar, and it gives skin care products a very sweet smell.


Brown sugar is created by combining white sugar with molasses, and is comparatively soft and slightly crumbly.
